Balto's Adventure

Jenna realized what was happening. "Oh, Luke......I.........I didn't know you were........." Jenna now knew it would have been better if she didn't come. She had caught Luke's eye, but she already had a mate. "I..........I'm sorry, Luke........." She paused for a while. "I better go...........I'm sorry." She then slowly walked off, glancing behind her once.

He instantly followd Jenna. "Jenna wait, Jenna!" He yelled blocking her path. "Look, if we can't be mates, can we at least be friends?" He asked with slight tears in his eyes. "I mean i do love you yes... But, as you already have a mate can we atleast be friends?" He loved her but relised his hopes of making her be his mate had gone away instantly, all he could do is try and make a friendship with her.

Jenna slowed down and smiled slightly. "Of course, Luke. We can always be friends! As long as that's all we'll be." she replied quietly. Then with a wag of a tail, she slowly left to meet Balto and Kodi.

"Hey guys." He said looking at Balto and Kodi. "You ok?" She asked allowing Jenna to go and nuzzle them taking a silent gulp.

Jenna stood silent and glanced at Luke. "Yeah.............yeah, we're fine." she replied with a fake smile. Jenna changed the subject, hoping it would make them feel better. "So how was the father-son quality time?"

Luke chuckled. "Father-son time, i like that." SHe said giving himself a scratch. He yawned looking out to the frozen sea. "Oh, well, i guess i have to be going now." He said walking towards the forest again. "Seeya guys. Ohh and Kodi, i'm fine." He chuckled before walking right into the forest.

Jenna took a step back. "Don't let me stop you......" she replied with a smile. "I...I'll just be here," she said, wanting some private time now. "Go ahead, I'll be fine." She went and lay under a tree, urging them to go.

Luke layed down next to her, just very quetly coming out of the forest. "Hey Jenna." He said."I Just wan't to say, i'm sorry." He looked at her. "I should of known somone like you had a mate, and well, i'm sorry for trying to make you go for me insted." he lowerd hs head to the ground sadly, he looked at her. "I'm sorry Jenna, i really am sorry." He sighed and closed his eyes.

Jenna sighed without smiling. "No, Luke. It's my fault. I should have known you were..........trying to get me to like you..........I mean, I do like you.........but I couldn't possibly leave Balto......I like you.......not love. I'm sorry, Luke." She paused, then lay down again.

"No Jenna, it's my fault, I love you but I knew you had a mate and I shouldn't of done it." He said starting to whimper. "I don't know, why i'm cursed."

Jenna sat up. "Hold it there, Luke. You're not cursed. It's not your fault..........it's not my fault. Things like this just happen...........but.........I think that it might be better if we......well stay away from each other. Don't take this wrong, Luke. I just think it might be better that way........If I do start falling for you...well that wouldn't be good........so......to help each other, we'd be doing a favor keeping distance. In case...." Jenna wasn't sure how Luke was going to take this, but she looked into his eyes, hoping he'd understand.

Luke smiled and shook his head. "Jenna, it's ok." He said grooming her. "If you have a mate, fair enough, but I don't see why we can't evan speak to eachother." He said laying down again looking at her. "and at the moment, if your happy, i am too." He smiled getting up and very very VERY slowly walking into the forest sadly.

Jenna watched him leave, seeing him not very happy. She sighed and lay with her head resting on her paws. What am I going to do? Jenna suddenly perked her head up. "Hmm......If I can find another wolf...." she gasped happily. "If I can find another wolf...." she suddenly leaped up happy and ran over to find Kodi & Balto.
